AQNU is the only university in the southwest of Anhui Province situated within Anqing, neighboring Linghu Park and with the Yangtze River flowing past it nearby. Anqing includes one city and seven counties, and the total area is 15,400 km2, the population is about 6 million (about 600,000 in the city itself). Over one third of Anqing’s surface area is populated with mountains, rivers and lake. The average annual temperature lies between 14.5 and 16.9 degrees Celsius.
